Since the financial crash of 2007/8, the business aviation industry has seen a significant decrease in flight traffic and aircraft usage. Aircraft sales and charter activity were also severely affected. In early 2017, however, this started to turn around and the industry wanted to ensure high profile media coverage of the sector’s renewed momentum.
For all strategic initiatives, Mach Media implements the IMAP steps to find a solution for our clients’ challenges.
Mach Media helped to organize two large-scale media opportunities:
- A press conference in Brussels, which focused on the industry’s renewed growth as well as new business models within private aviation, based on trends such as the sharing economy, new technologies (electric-powered, advanced avionics) and regulations that allow single-pilot operations for commercial flights
- A large series of press conferences and media events at EBACE (the European Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition) organized by EBAA, which enabled media to receive updates from key industry players and engage with media star Bertrand Piccard, founder and co-pilot of Solar Impulse –the first plane to fly around the world solely on solar energy
MM’s support included: Event logistics & promotion, key messages and speech writing, presentation coaching, press conference moderation, media follow up and clippings/reporting.
The result was 75+ articles placed in general and trade press, overwhelmingly positive and focusing on the industry’s recovery.
